MAKEshift Poetry

IMG_0977

Abstract: The Machine is one of my favorite metaphors for the human element. In some way we are all trapped in our existence and our life is wrapped into the lives of others. In this project, students create a mechanism and then wrote a poem that is motivated by, or representative of, the mechanism.

Academic Context: This mini project is an introduction to writing poetry, designing in Adobe Illustrator, laser-cutting, and critique. This project was exhibited at the San Diego Mini Maker Faire in December, 2013.
