Information is the cornerstone of modern society yet human history is a dichotomy of enlightenment and darkness. Scholars of Alexandria made discoveries before the common era that were lost until rediscovery a millennium later. That leads me to wonder, how much knowledge is only rediscovery? How much wisdom has been lost throughout our species’ history, never to be seen again?
Furthermore, how do we prevent the cycle from repeating with our culture? If our culture were to vanish, is our information accessible to archaeologists of the future or lost in a geographical jigsaw of digital bits.
